Tattoodles
I need help figuring out where I'm going to get my tattoo.
First it was a matter of what I wanted to get. The choices came down to either a turtle or a film reel. In the end I decided that a film reel would be the best at this point in my life. Now I just need to figure out where I'm getting this body art done. Here are a few criteria for where I want it to end up (maybe someone out there can give me their opinion about this):
- this is a personal decision to get a tattoo. I'm not getting one 'because everyone else is doing it' or whatever. I want to get this done because it's personal to me and because of this, I don't want it to be something people notice about me right away.
- With regards to the first criteria, I want to get it some place that is not going to be noticeable all the time, so the arm is definitely out of the question. I would like it to be someplace that will be noticeable when I wear a bathing suit.
- I want to get it someplace that is not going to change drastically over the years. I considered getting it on my hip, but if I ever get pregnant (or get fat) than it will stretch and be all funny/creepy looking.
Right now I'm considering getting it on my ankle or on my lower back. Now I know that lots of girls get tattoos on their lower backs, but I want mine to be more unique, so I would get a film reel on one side of the spine and have the film strip stretch over the spine to the other. Now that I think about it, it would be cool to get it going down the spine (to my nursing friends, I don't care whether or not I can have an epidural later.) If it were on the ankle I would get it wrapping around like an anklet.
Well, if anyone has an opinion that fits my criteria that I haven't thought of yet, let me know.
And yes I know I posted one of these earlier, but it's not specifically the download of the day, but the download of each post (once again, the alliteration got to me.)

"I'm Still Standing"
(By Elton John)
Why Chosen: This song represents independence and getting over all the bad stuff that has happened and moving on with your life in a strong and beautiful way. I feel that this has been my life in the past little while, in more ways than one.
Here is the part that stuck out to me the most:
And did you think this fool could never win
Well look at me, I'm coming back again
I got a taste of love in a simple way
And if you need to know while I'm still standing you just fade away
Don't you know I'm still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

My friend has two tatoos: one between her breasts and one on her ankle. She said that the one on her ankle hurt infinitely more than the other because there is no fat on your ankle. She said that she first felt like she was going to die and then wanted to die, and if she were to do it again she would want to get it somewhere fattier and less painful. Just something to think about! - Alyssa
The Ankle sounds cool, but you'd have to be willing to go through a lot of pain. I'm not too sure on where to get it,... I'll brain storm with you later if you want.
Kyla,
I have nine tattoos so far. I have one on my chest it is a sacred heart. As for the pain the first one is usually the worst because you do not know what to expect. The pain gets less after you get the first one. As for the position the ankel does hurt. I think that you would probably prefer to get it on you lower back because if you want to have it covered up with some thing else later you could. I have been round a lot of females that have them on the lower back and the ankle and they said it depends on the size of the tattoo. Paul
