What 2004 Taught Me
2004 was an interesting year for me.
From college acceptance, to the divorce of my parents, to being dumped, to moving to Toronto, to sitting here right now (on the first day of 2005), a lot has happened to me in the past year.
I had good times. I had bad times. In the middle of it all, I learned quite a bit about life, and learned quite a bit about who I am and who I am becoming.
Now, as a forewarning, probably everything on the following list that I learned is cliché, but I feel that there is a good reason why clichés are repeated so often.
So without further ado, some important lessons I learned in 2004:
1) Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
2) Love is blind.
3) Every dark cloud has a silver lining.
4) Absense makes the heart grow fonder.
5) All that glitters is not gold.
6) That which does not kill you makes you stronger.
7) Those who do not look back from where they come from, will not reach their destination.
8) The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
9) Thank your lucky stars.
10) A house divided against itself cannot stand.
I'm sure there are many more, but those are the ten that came to mind.
In closing, I wish everyone a very happy and amazing new year. May the following days bring you love, health, and happiness.
Love,
Kyla

Thanks Jesse...I try to proofread, but sometimes even my own stupidity escapes me.
