Gee, I Love Turtles
A little over a year ago I was privledged enough to get to visit the Cayman Islands Turtle Farm on The Grand Cayman Islands. I know the idea of a turtle farm sounds hilarious, but they literally grow turtles. They have tanks with itty bitty ones swimming around and tanks with ones twice the size of me. They even have a tank of ones that you can pick up and hold and take pictures with (when I get back to rez, I'll scan my pics and post them!)
Since then, I have had this incredible love for anything to do with turtles. Here is a list of all the turtle things I have:
- two turtle necklaces (one is a silver locket and the other is this neat looking bead thing)
- a turtle bracelet (the turtle bracelet is made of turtle charms, and I have a different charm bracelet with a turtle charm on it)
- a turtle toe ring
- two pairs of turtle earrings
- two shirts with turtles on them (one says "Punky Turtle" and the other says "I don't follow...I always lead (or something to that effect...sorry Lin I can't remember exactly what it says!))
- two pairs of turtle socks
- turtle underwear
- two turtle candle holders
- Finding Nemo (what? It has kick-butt turtles in it) and a Finding Nemo plush toy (Squirt!) and a calendar
- two turtle bath toys (one you wind up and it swims around and the other is Squirt from Finding Nemo and it squirts water)
- a gigantic turtle plush toy (won at a carnival, no less)
- turtle flavoured (the candy!) hot chocolate and coffee
- turtle scrapbooking supplies
- turtle postcards and pictures
- a seemingly endless amount of turtle figurines from everywhere (Mexico, Cayman Islands...I got some for my birthday and some for Christmas)
That's all I can think of right now, though I'm sure there are many more random turtle items that I own. Now you can understand why I want to own a turtle so bad (too bad they carry disease :S )
On a side note, as a new feature for my blog, I'm going to post what I refer to as my download of the day. This is a song that rocks my socks on whatever day I choose to post.
(Please note that I am not advocating that you download music because I am a huge supporter of supporting the artist(s) and buying music that you enjoy, but the alliterative title seemed nice.)
So without further ado:
Kyla's Download of the Day:
"Thé à la Menthe"
(I don't know who it's by, but it's from the Ocean's Twelve soundtrack)
Why Chosen: This song demands that you get up and bust a move...dancing is inevitable when this song is playing (appropriate since dancing is what is going on when it is played in the film. I hope you like is as much as I do.)

Scroll down until you see the poster for Ocean's Twelve and hit Télécharger le morceau en mp3 (or just hit my handy dandy link) and download this song...it's on the creators official site, so this one is OK to download.
