I Hate Green!
I just got my room assignment for school (the floor that I'm going to be an RA on) and I'm not surprised, but I'm not totally happy with it yet. It'll take some time, but I'll get there.
I'm on the 8th floor (of a 9 floor building) which is bad because it means longer waits for the elevator.
The problem with this floor is that it is green. VERY green. Like, I'm talking green carpet, green tile, green doors, green walls...those green walls even have dark green sponge painting over top. It's slightly nauseating.
I think my biggest disappointment is, however, the fact that I'm on an all-girls study floor. I don't mind the all-girls part; I was on an all girls floor last year and it was great! I made some awesome friends, and girls are naturally neat creatures, so the washroom isn't totally disgusting at the end of the day. I just think I was really hoping to NOT be on a study floor.
Basically on a study floor you have to keep all noise to a minimum. This means no crazy parties, and quiet hours starting two hours earlier than all the other floors (9 Sunday-Thursday, 11 Friday, Saturday.) This sorta sucks because I am one who like to make noise, be it my movies or my music blasting at all hours of the day. I think it'll just take some adjusting. And, I mean, if I make it through this year, maybe I'll get a better one next year. Who knows?
But I can't complain too much. I mean, I will be making a pretty penny for doing less work than the other RA's (since people on the study floors usually require minimal supervision.)
Anyway, that was on my mind and thought I would post.
