Let The Challenge Begin!
So I had my first meeting today about the wellness challenge that I am involved with, and I am officially VERY excited. It is going to be a lot of hard work, but I think it will definitely be worth it in the end. Here are my responsibilites as a delegate (the lines in brackets are my comments about my responsibilities):
1) To complete 3 personal training sessions per week. One of these sessions will be conducted by Lisa Coles, and the other two with your Humber Student personal trainer. (These are one hour each on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. 3:30-4:30 Tuesday, 1:30-2:30 Thursday, 8-9 Friday...that one will kill me! My personal trainer is really nice, and it's neat to get to be trained by a professional for one of the three times (the students are training to be professionals.)
2) To complete 2 journal entries per week. You will be given a login to enter the website. You should be checking this on a regular basis as you may have people writing to you, asking you questions, or even posting encouraging words that you may want to respond to. (Well, we all know that I am good at this! Once the site is up, I'll link it and you guys can check out my progress!)
3) To document your eating habits for two weeks. Once during the first week and once during the last week. (Well, it appears I have one week left to eat whatever I want before I meet with the dietician. Goodbye junk food...I shall miss you.)
4) To meet with the dietician at least once a week to go over your dietary requirements/progress. (Do you realize that there is someone here who can teach me how to eat healthy at rez? Where was she when I was dying last semester?)
5) To wear your Wellness Challenge t-shirt while working out with your personal trainer. (Ok, that's all fine and dandy, but where am I going to find time and money to wash this shirt? I guess I'm going to be a very smelly delegate!)
6) To meet with Et Cetera and/or Radix for any promotion/stories regarding the challenge. (I've already spoken with the press...it was way exciting! The eight of us participating felt like stars the entire time, all this attention being lavished on us.)
All in all, I'm really excited, and would appreciate your support throughout the following 8 weeks. I know that this is going to have it's up and downs, and I could use all the prayer and helpful and caring comments that I can get!
