Speedbumps
I hate the speedbumps that they have in the parking lot of my school.
Now, why would someone who doesn't drive hate speedbumps? Let me tell you:
From the very first day that I got here (to rez) we have been warned that the neighborhood that the school is located in is a bit seedy and quite dangerous and that we shouldn't go out by ourselves.
Problem: A lot of the time not going out by yourself is a complete impossibility. For example, it's not like someone is going to walk me to the bus station at the opposite end of campus just because they wanted to. And even if they wanted to, then that means that they are walking back by themselves. It's just easier to brave the neighborhood on your own.
Here is where the speedbump issue comes in. Do you know how freaky it is to be walking along in a so-called 'dangerous' neighborhood by yourself and have a car slow down as it approaches you? Your heart starts racing and you start getting ready to defend yourself......then the car hits the speedbump and is on it's way.
I've had this happen to me at least 10 times and it freaks me out everytime. They have instilled such a huge fear in us that pretty much anything has the ability to freak you out.
Anyway, I am once again stalling...I can't wait until this whole binder project is over!
